Elise Newman and Darcy Hunt have been friends since the ninth grade — both have worked separately and together on projects, but have been referring clients to each other for years.

Newman, with 20-plus years of hair styling experience, and Hunt, with 12-plus years of experience in aesthetics, are now a united team, in essence, the “sages of beauty” — but that’s not the inspiration for the name of the salon.

“The definition of ‘sage’ we relate to is; wise through reflection and experience,” said Newman. “There’s a lot of reflection going on in our salon. Clients looking in the mirror, us looking back as we create a hair and makeup look, relaxing during a facial.

When clients walk up to the front door of the white house with red trim, they are greeted with smiling faces in a space with natural light. The hair styling is done in the lobby and processing and shampooing happens in a separate room. Towards the back is a private room for men and women where facial treatments — traditional European facials, chemicals peels and waxing take place.

Darcy and Elise describe Sage Salon as an eco-conscious beauty boutique for hair, body and mind. In addition to their expertise, seven other experienced hairstylists round out Sage Salon.

Sage also offers a wide range of bridal services at the salon and on location throughout the Napa Valley and beyond.
